The 3D Repo for Autodesk® Revit® plugin provides a convenient way of exporting your models from within the Revit desktop application.
Use this option if the model publisher fails to upload your model due to weak network bandwidth. Unlike with the model publisher, where the file is sent directly to 3D Repo, the model exporter will save a local version of the BIM file (3D Repo's proprietary file format). Upload the BIM file directly on our platform as shown here.
Currently supported versions: Revit 2020, 2021 & 2022
Initial Setup
Model Setup
In the 3D View, you have an option to publish a specific model selection by hiding model elements or using the section box to crop the model. Use it to reduce the file size or subdivide your models before exporting the model. You can even apply colour and transparency overrides to elements you wish to highlight.
You must apply all of these changes to the 3D View before exporting your model. Also, we advise you to take measurements and check that your Revit model units match the model units in 3D Repo.
Export BIM files
Click on the Export icon located in the 3D Repo tab (main ribbon menu)
Image or attachment is not accessible.
In the 3D Repo .BIM File Exporter window provide the following:
Specify the model units (custom or Revit units)
Choose the save location for your file
Provide a name for the BIM file
Select a Level of Detail (by default it is set to High)
Tick the box only if you wish to export Textures (optional)
Tick the box only if you wish to export 2D Annotations (optional)
Click on the Export button and the progress bar will appear.
Done will indicate a successful export, a warning message will tell you otherwise.

Great! Now that your file is ready, head over to 3drepo.io and upload the model directly to a model container.
