You can share your Revit files (.rvt) with other project members using 3D Repo. There are just a few simple steps to follow in getting your files ready for processing.
Supported Revit file versions: from 2011 up to 2024
We always recommend our users to use the plugin, as it's the most efficient and easiest way for model sharing.
Model Set up
3D Repo looks for a specific view in Revit in a cascading manner:
Firstly, it looks for a dedicated 3D Repo view
If that fails, it looks for a 3D view with Navis in the name
If that fails, it looks for a default "{3D}" view
And if all of the above fail, it takes the first 3D view in the list
Since your Revit file may contain multiple 3D & 2D Views, we advise you do the following before you upload the file:
Create a 3D View and change its name to 3D Repo
Our platform will use this view to generate the 3D geometrySet your 3D View to a Fine Scale
In the Graphics Display Options switch to a Shaded Style
This will ensure that model element colours appear in 3D RepoSave your Revit file containing the new 3D View
Go ahead to 3drepo.io and Upload your model
A successfully uploaded & processed Revit model will look like this:
