If you are new to 3D Repo and not aware of the feature called 3D Diff, have a read through our Understand 3D Diff article. However, if you are familiar with the concept, let's take a look at how to use the 3D Diff feature on our platform.

Activate 3D Diff

To begin with, head over to 3drepo.io and open the model/federation you want to run a comparison on. In the model viewer, open the compare card by clicking on the compare icon. From here complete the following:

  1. Open the 3D DIFF tab in the Compare Card

  2. Select any model you want to compare
In Federations you can select multiple models

  3. Select Target Revision from the drop-down menu
The base model is the revision you currently have open

  4. Click on the Green icon to activate 3D Diff (Click again to deactivate it)
Target model revision will start loading for comparison results

3D Diff Results

After you activate the 3D Diff feature, you can toggle between the model revisions as shown below:

  • Target Model (model revision you have selected)

  • Base Model (current model revision)

  • Compare (3D Diff results)
