Let's take a look at how to navigate through the Federated model's data structure and select specific models or elements. It works similarly to a single Model Tree, but in this case contains multiple models.
You can use the Tree Card to manage object selection and visibility. We'll cover the following:
The Tree Card shows all models in the federation and objects in these models according to their hierarchy. Click on the Tree icon in the left side panel to bring up the Tree Card.
Highlight Models and Model Elements
Double-click on any model or object name in the Tree to zoom in on the model or object in the viewer
Click on any model element in the viewer to highlight the element in the model tree (tree list will expand)
Open model in new tab
You can open any of the models contained in the Federation by clicking on the window icon. This will open the selected model in a new browser tab.
Navigate through the federated model data structure
Expand/Collapse Tree
Click on the plus (+) button to expand the hierarchy of the Tree and the minus (-) button to collapse it.
Go to top
If you have expanded the hierarchy, click on the Go to top (^) button to go back to the top level of your federation hierarchy.
Control Model and Element visibility
You can control element visibility from the model tree using the eye icons. You can toggle between isolate/show/hide model elements.
Isolate (see-through icon)
Click to isolate the selected model or model element in the viewer. This hides all the unselected elements from the viewer.
Show/Hide (solid/crossed eye icon)
Hide
Click once to hide the selected model or model element in the viewer. The crossed eye icon means that the object is hidden.Show
Click on the crossed eye icon to show the selected model or model element in the viewer. The dark blue eye icon suggests that the objects are visible.
Note that the light blue eye icon means that one or more of the children (nested) objects are hidden.
